Movers Chelsea Modern Slavery Statement
This Modern Slavery Statement sets out the steps taken by Movers Chelsea to prevent modern slavery and human trafficking within our operations and supply chains. We recognise our responsibility to uphold human rights, promote fair working conditions, and ensure that slavery, servitude, forced or compulsory labour, and human trafficking have no place in our business.
Our Zero-Tolerance Policy
Movers Chelsea operates a strict zero-tolerance policy towards all forms of modern slavery. We will not knowingly engage with any organisation that participates in, condones, or is complicit in any form of modern slavery or human trafficking. This commitment applies to all aspects of our activities, including recruitment, employment practices, procurement, partnerships, and subcontracting arrangements.
All colleagues, from senior management through to operational teams, are expected to uphold this policy. Any breach is treated as a serious disciplinary matter that may result in termination of employment or contract, as well as referral to relevant authorities where appropriate.
Our Supply Chains and Due Diligence
Our supply chains primarily include suppliers of vehicles, packing materials, storage facilities, equipment, cleaning and maintenance services, and labour support. We recognise that certain sectors and geographies carry a higher risk of modern slavery. To address this, we undertake proportionate due diligence on suppliers and contractors before entering into or renewing commercial relationships.
As part of this due diligence, we assess the ethical standards, labour practices, and compliance frameworks of our suppliers. We seek assurances that they comply with applicable labour, employment, and human rights laws and that they are taking reasonable steps to prevent modern slavery within their own businesses and supply chains.
Supplier Audits and Ongoing Monitoring
Movers Chelsea conducts supplier audits and reviews, focusing on those suppliers that present a higher potential risk. These audits may include requests for documentation, on-site visits where appropriate, and discussions with management regarding working conditions, recruitment practices, and supply chain oversight.
We expect our suppliers to maintain transparent records relating to their workforce and sourcing arrangements. Where concerns are identified, we work with suppliers to develop corrective action plans. If a supplier fails to adequately address identified issues, we reserve the right to suspend or terminate the relationship.
Reporting Channels and Whistleblowing
We encourage all employees, contractors, and third parties to report any concerns or suspicions of modern slavery or unethical labour practices connected to Movers Chelsea or our supply chains. Concerns can be raised through our internal reporting routes, including speaking with line managers or senior management, or using our established whistleblowing channel.
Reports can be made confidentially, and individuals raising genuine concerns in good faith will not suffer any detrimental treatment for doing so. All reports are taken seriously, promptly investigated, and, where appropriate, reported to law enforcement or relevant authorities.
Training and Awareness
To ensure our teams understand the risks and indicators of modern slavery, we provide training and guidance to relevant staff. This includes awareness of common signs of exploitation, how to raise concerns, and the responsibilities associated with managing suppliers and labour providers. We promote a culture where respect for human rights is embedded in everyday decision-making.
Continuous Improvement and Annual Review
Movers Chelsea is committed to continuous improvement in our approach to preventing modern slavery. We periodically review our policies, procedures, and due diligence processes to ensure they remain effective and proportionate to the risks we face.
This Modern Slavery Statement is reviewed at least annually by our senior management team. The review considers any incidents, audits, supplier performance, legislative changes, and feedback from employees and stakeholders. Where necessary, we update our practices and communicate any changes throughout the business and, where relevant, to our suppliers.
By maintaining strong governance, clear expectations, and robust reporting channels, Movers Chelsea aims to play an active role in combating modern slavery and protecting the rights and dignity of everyone connected to our operations.
